On March 14, 2012, the St. Baldrick’s Day fundraiser presented by the Hofstra University Roller Hockey Club in which Hofstra administrators, faculty and students agree to shave their heads to raise money for research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives, raised over $17,000, as of March 15, 2012. Two years ago the same event raised $5,000, and a year ago it raised $9,500.
Many of the individuals supported this event due to being personally touched by cancer. Dean of Students Peter Libman along with Head Soccer Coach Richard M. Nuttal, Professor Gregory M. Maney, and Senior Associate Dean of Honors College Neil H. Donahue were of the many who opted to get their heads shaved.
Hair extensions were also available for those wanting to contribute and participate without shaving their heads.

Have a great Thursday,
