Fall Festival 2014!!!

It’s that time of year again! Hofstra’s annual Fall Festival: Alumni, Student and Family Weekend is just days away. Mark this weekend on your calendars; you and your families do not want to miss it! If you haven’t purchased your tickets to this fun event, be sure to click here! 

 

Our campus is alive with energy as we prepare for all the events of Fall Fest. Parent Council members, student performing groups, student and parent volunteers, and the rest of the Hofstra family are working around the clock to put the finishing touches on what looks to be the best festival yet! The Family Welcome Brunch kicks off Saturday with a whole range of events to follow including model classes, information sessions, and our beloved Hofstra tradition: the Parade of Floats to display the student groups’ creations!

Immediately following the parade, Fall Fest concert tradition continues! Each year, we welcome great acts to the Hofstra stage during the Vibe Live concert and carnival. This year, we’re hosting Janelle Monae, Matt & Kim, TLC, and the 80’s cover band, Rubix Kube! Be sure to wear your dancing shoes! From carnival rides and games, to performances and fireworks, this is the perfect chance for everyone in the family to relax and enjoy the campus. But the fun and entertainment doesn’t end there. The two-time Emmy and Grammy award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin takes the stage as this year’s Out Loud Comedy Show star!

Did You Know: Kathy Griffin joined Whoopi Goldberg and Lily Tomlin as the ONLY female comedians to ever win Grammy awards for Best Comedy Album! You go, girl!

It’s also the perfect time for your students to show you their home away from home and their growing, extended family. Experience a day in the life of a Hofstra student this weekend.
