Relay for Life 2016!
This year, Hofstra University raised $43,600 for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. This event is in honor of those who have battled cancer and all proceeds go to cancer research. More than 60 teams and 700 people participated at Hofstra and the event was incredible!
The track was lined with tents all night as each of the organizations had on-site fundraisers. Organizations fundraised during Relay, and there was also a bubble soccer arena game later in the night. Students spent the 12 hours fundraising, throwing around footballs, and singing along to music that was put on by the wonderful Relay for Life committee.
Relay for Life at Hofstra University is an experience that families do not want to miss. While raising money for an important cause, it is also a time for people to come together and create long lasting memories. For families wishing to get involved or donate for next year’s relay, keep an eye out for upcoming events on the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life webpage. Whether you’d like to start a team or join the Relay committee, there are plenty of ways to get involved!
