Siblings Day 2017...A Smashing Success!

Hello Hofstra families! Thank you to all who attended Siblings’ Day 2017! It was a smashing success! Here’s a quick recap of all the fun we had:

The Residence Hall Association co-sponsored the event with Parent and Family programs and, along with the help of many student organizations, provided many fun activities for students and siblings alike!

First up, a photo-op with our beloved mascot Kate!

Next, the Siblings’ Day Carnival! We played so many games and won tickets for the RHA raffle. There were board games, hula hooping contests, musical chairs, toilet paper bowling, bingo, and so many more.

The raffles were different baskets donated by the Hofstra Bookstore, the Career center, Hofstra Parent and Family Programs, and Residence Hall Association.

The talent show was one of my favorite parts. We have so many talented students here at Hofstra, and everyone had a good time watching them show off their talents. This year, we had one acapella group, the Hofstra Dutchmen, and two dance groups, the IMANI dance ensemble, and Rhythmix.

Hofstra siblings ended the day either watching a movie, Passenger (sponsored by Entertainment Unlimited) or Monsters’ University, or going to see Hamlet at Hofstra’s Shakespeare festival.

Many thanks to the student organizations that participated in this event, and especially to the Resident Student Association for their help in another successful and exciting Siblings’ Day!
