Pumpkin Flavored Stressbuster

It’s that time of year again for your student when long nights of studying are most likely followed by project deadlines and group presentations. Stress is sometimes inevitable and is common during midterms and final exams. Thankfully, Hofstra’s Division of Student Affairs knows how to recharge their batteries.

The Office of Student Leadership & Activities (OSLA) implements a series of events that work to limit the stress of students during the most hectic times of the semester. The events encourage students to step away from their work for a moment, enjoy a break, and relax.

On October 28, OSLA hosted a “stressbuster” in the Student Center that allowed any student to pick out a pumpkin from the bin and decorate it however they pleased. Sometimes, students are met on their walk to the library with a brown paper bag filled with snacks to keep them going or a room filled with pets to take their mind off that test.  During this often stressful time, events like these can help energize and brighten their day.
