Hello Hofstra family! Do you have a student graduating this
December? Here are some important dates and information to help better plan
ahead for this exciting event!
Students should apply for graduation through their Hofstra
portal, in the Student Records tab. If there are any concerns about graduation
requirements, please contact the Center for University Advising at advisement@hofstra.edu or (516)
463-6770.
Wednesday, December
21, 2016 at 7:00 pm is the date of this year’s midyear commencement
ceremony. Throughout this semester, the Commencement office will be alerting
students via their Pride email accounts about important graduation information
and fairs.
At graduation fairs, students can order caps and gowns and
receive information about graduation rings. Caps and gowns can also be ordered
online through hofstra.edu/academicattire.
Robe distribution will be Wednesday,
December 14 - Thursday, December 15 between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm in the
lower level of the bookstore in the Student Center.
Make sure your student in pictured in the yearbook to commemorate
their time at Hofstra! To receive information about midyear commencement
yearbook photos, email hofstrayearbook@gmail.com.
Graduating students will have the chance to schedule yearbook pictures at a
graduation fair.
For the commencement ceremony, each graduating student will
receive six tickets with assigned seats. To request additional tickets,
students may enter a lottery at robe distribution, December 14th and
15th. Lottery winners will receive an email notification beginning
Friday, December 16 at 10:00 am. Lottery winners MUST respond to the email
within 2 hours, or the tickets will go to the next student on the lottery list.
Tickets may be picked up at the reception desk, Room 112 Student Center, Friday,
December 16, 2016 by 5:00 pm.
